PS1/2 that ps2 memory card hack thing

a while back there was reports about some sort of ps2 device that let you run back-ups using only a memory card of some sort. did it ever get released and did it actually work?

i can't for the life of me remember what it was called.

Memor 32 works but if you softmod your PS2 run a free homebrew named ESR thats the same.

They were able to reverse the memor32 files and now it's free. I have it running and it works. You'll either need to use the PSX exploit or have some sort of swap option, and a USB key wouldn't hurt either. You can load Free MemoryCard Boot to load into a browser and load the ESR elf file or change the ESR file into a boot and have FMCB automatically start it.

You'll need to patch all ISO using either the memor32 patcher, which is free, or using the ESR patcher that's in BETA.

you can turn a normal ps2 memorycard into a memor32 one

even has better compatibility.

they didnt reverse memor32 files they managed to dump them but they are encrypted!

they wouldnt fit on a standard 8mb mem card as its about 160mb total unpacked but still encrypted and no one has figured it out yet and how to recompress it if they did!


what you will have is FREE MEM CARD BOOT which is an elf loader system and this exploit was around before MEMENTO team added a similar function to the memor32 card

UHHH...ESR is what memento is. I'm not talking about FMCB, which is just a loader for ELFs. ESR is an ELF that does exactly what memento does. If it was just FMCB, then I wouldn't be loading games off my regular memory card, which I am.

for my fat ps2 i use fcmb with hdloader0.8c

and for the slim i use fcmb + esr 9.a

works perfect and better then memor32, now i only need to find a 32mb memorycard i can convert.
