Just drag all your roms onto it (keep each system in different folders like gba, nes) then press select all and edit the path to where your roms are on the switch. For example roms/gba is mine for all my gba games.
Once done click save and it will ask for a file name. Use the same file name found in /retroarach/playlists folder on your switch.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, but the editor confused me the moment I tried to save. I see it has options for Windows, Android, Wii U, etc. But I was unsure how to go about it with the Switch, since I felt self-conscious knowing "Wii U" had its own listing. Also, it doesn't let me edit the path at all. I'm on it now, so I suppose it won't hurt anything if I just set it to "- none -" and go from there to see if it loads and just trial and error Windows and Android, the two most likely ones to work.

Oh wait, never mind, just noticed "Edit content" on the top-right. Though, "Core path" still confuses me. Since the Switch is not listed in it, I believe "- none -" will work just fine.

Top right is where the path edit is. The files will work the same on all systems (I believe).

Huh you’re right, I never noticed that option before. I would’ve left it at default which is c drive. When loading a rom for the first time it’ll ask which core you want to use, so it won’t cause errors.

Alright, thank you. Well, it did say "Warning: all content will be set to DETECT core." with "- none -" so if it asks anyway, that shouldn't matter then.

Now, my final hurdles will be figuring out how to get N64 and PSX games to run at all, as well as the UI having those weird black squares where I feel there should be menus, alongside the font not really matching the Switch. But, thank you very much for the help on the playlists!

Don't know why, but it moved my recent reply up here. Hopefully, you see it.

Do you remember which "Core path" you hit before saving? This would help me trial and error, since you're still here at the moment.

PSX Example:
Open Retroarch -> Select 'Load Core' -> Select 'Sony - PlayStation (PCSX ReARMed)' -> Select 'Load Content' -> Browse to an appropriate PS1 Game on your sd card --> Play!
