When a stick is released back to neutral and the stick slingshots back too far and an input is registered in the opposite direction before returning to neutral.

If you replace the sticks by soldering on a new stick unit you will get rid of this problem for the time being. No guarantee that the new sticks will not develop the same issue, though. Sticks are just ... faulty by design.
