What firmware version does a brand new 3ds come with?

depends where you get from

Pokemon X & Y consoles coming with 6.1.0
Consoles Branded 2013 new ones come with 5.1.0 early 2013 ones come with 4.5.0
Consoles Branded 2012 are 4.4 or lower

6.1? i think my 3ds xl pokemon x edition had 6.2..

I suppose I could look through their used 3ds consoles and check system info while I look at them. Otherwise I would have to ask them when they received their shipment I suppose.

By "new ones" do you mean like September and newer, or like March and newer?

Pokemon ones here are 6.2 im pretty sure, newer as in from about 1 month after 5.XX update came out, both 2013 ds's i have seen new where both 4.5

Ok, so definitely anything older than March 25th will be 4.5

If its 2013, just ask when they got stock, here the ones i looked at lately in 1 shop, blue,red,silver where all 2012
