Hi, i want to know if anyone else has had this problem with Super Mario Galaxy.
I save the game after i get a star and also save though the menu but every time, but when i start the game up again i reset back to 4 lives, no matter how many lives i had when i saved. It keeps my stars and star bits but not my lives.
Does any one know how to fix this? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you and sorry if this has already been brought up.

Um... If I remember correctly, Super Mario 64 DS (and the N64 Version, too, then) doesn't keep the lives, too.

it has been brought up before, I can't rem what thread it was, but this has been the same in all the 3d mario games. When you turn off your machine and load the game up it always gives you the default number of lives instead of the lives you've collected. it's a 3d mario feature

I think it's intentional. Otherwise you'd rack up so many lives in a game where you don't die anywhere near as much as you collect lives.
I think going back to 4 lives every time is attempting to create a bit of a challenge.
