1. Download thenewpoketext
2. Extract all of its contents into a folder
3. Put you rom (HG/SS) into the folder
4. Run thenewpoketext.exe
5. Enter the name of the rom in the folder. eg. name.nds (you have to put .nds)
6. Wait for thenewpoketext to do its thing
7. When it's done, you should see a '>' symbol. and a folder names tmp_romname in the same folder as thenewpoketext
8. In tmp_romname, go to root/a/0/2
9. Look for a file named 7
10. Rename 7 to "msg.narc"
11. Move msg.narc to root/msgdata
12. Run thenewpoketext.exe again if you closed it before, if not go back to thenewpoketext.exe
13. type in 'getall [whateveryouwant].xml'
14. A new file should pop up in the same folder thenewpoketext was in
15. Open that, and find the place you want to edit
16. At the top of the area, look for
17. In thenewpoketext, put in 'get [whatever the number was] WHATEVER.xml
18. there should be another xml file of what you named it in the same folder again
19. After you finish editting whatever you want in that file, change to
20. In the newpoketext, put in 'patch [whatevertheeditedfilesnamewas].xml
21. IMPORTANT. rename msg.narc back to 7, and move it back to root/a/0/2**
22. in the new poketext, type in 'mkrom [whateveryouwantyourromnametobe].nds
23. Wait for it to finish
VOILA~!
*when naming files, you do not need to put in tyhe '[' and ']'
**if you cannot rename msg.narc back to 7, follow these steps (im using XP)
1. on top of the file browser window, go to Tools>Folder Options
2. Go to the tab - File types
3. type in narc
4. when you get to .narc, click on advanced
5. TICK ALWAYS SHOW EXTENSION
***When you want to edit something different, follow steps 16 to 20, you can name the xml the same thing as your last, if you want to keep it for reference/edits i recommend you name it something else
