Ah right, yeah I'm tired. :P
I'm not sure to be honest, i guess something could be added, but obviously that would involve editing and compiling from source yourself.
Yes I'm not much help atm am i? :(

side note... i don't miss menuhax at all after moving to a9lh. :)

I've seen a little about a9lh, and I honestly haven't studied much of it, my understanding is that essentially it allows your sysNAND to behave exactly as your emuNAND. If that is true, that is awesome, but I am very wary of such a move. I feel like if something went wrong, I could become shit out of luck and either brick my 3DS or completely remove my ability to boot into my emuNAND.

But maybe that's just my naivety on the subject, I'll have to look more into it.

It is true BUT you can still keep your sysnand at whatever version it is and still have emunand if you wish. Two of my systems is setup like that. While another is 10.6 sysnand only with a9lh. :)

It give you 100% boot rate and a recovery. You can still use your emunand. As for your boot rate issues if you are using a boot manager add a delay in.

I don't use a bootmanager so that isn't the issue. But I'm learning now that my issue is pretty null, I'll have to look into a9lh and get that working properly.

oh haha, well I see I need a bootmanager for a9lh anyway, so either way I guess I'll have to get that.
You don't need one for a9l it just helps give you more options. But with using menuhax its pretty much needed for getting cfw to boot better.

So forgive me if this has been asked and/or addressed already, but I couldn't find anything.

Quick preface: I recently made the change from RXTools to Cakes due to RXTools apparently not being updated to support DS/DSiware/GBA games on the latest emuNAND like it did before I updated past 9.5

Anyway, with Cakes, i have it set to boot via menuhax right away. With RXtools, I set everything to boot automatically into my emuNAND, I could always tell when RXtools would succeed or fail upon boot, because after the bottom screen flashed, the top screen would briefly flash the RXtools splash screen, and if it failed upon boot, I wouldn't see anything on the top screen.

With Cakes, I see that I can have it boot automatically like RXtools did, but, if I set this, there is no splash screen on the top. As such I don't know when the boot succeeds or fails until I find myself waiting around for too long without anything happening. So right now, I don't have autoboot, and I have the cakes menu pop up upon boot and then I select boot cfw. I'd like for it to be fully automated, but in order to do so, I need that visual confirmation that the splash screen would give me. Is there anyway to have a cakes splash screen, or is that just something not implemented into this CFW?

Side note, perhaps its just me, but the boot rate of cakes via menuhax seems to be significantly less consistent than RXtools was. Does anyone else find this to be the case as well?

The bottom screen flashes a bit of text when it works, and the backlight turns off. If you're on o3ds, you can also watch the 3D led, or the wireless led.
And the latter is placebo, as rxTools also uses CakeBrah to load.

Hello,

I have just installed A9HL on my new 3ds. I want to launch CakesFW 138 from CtrBootManager9 but I don´t know how.
I have the firmware.bin, the cetk and the slot0x11key96.bin already, but I think I need something more. How can I get a CakesFW launcher in bin format so I can launch it from CtrBootManager9?

What do I need firmkey.bin for? I got it by loading my sysNAND 9.0, then launch Homebrew Launcher with Cubic Ninja exploit and finally launch CakeFW from here.

Thank you!

If you use a boot manager, you can load Cakes.dat at offset 0x12000.
The firmkey.bin is necessary to decrypt the firmware.

Hello,

I need please the New 3DS 9.0 native_firm (firmware.bin) and cetk, can someone provide me the NUS links for those? Or at least the hash of both so I can find them easily?
I've been searching them for a while without success.

Thank you!

Isn't there links on the github?

I have the same problem for 9.2.0. The link on github points only to the latest firmware.bin

Need firmware.bin and cetk. Would be good if someone can help. I cant install cias because of this.

@pbanj :AuReinand works, but I have always to hold L while booting. I just want it plain simple. Start 3ds, launch gw. Finish.

EDIT: I've got it working now. Used AuReinand and dumped my own firmware.bin. Created ctr-xor-pads, took sysnandbackup, extracted the *.app from sysnand with winimage, decrypted the app with decrypt9, and extracted the content with tools on pc.

Still, I want the cakesfw firmware.bin for 9.2!

EDIT2: Lol Aureinand broken now. Booting worked only 1 time :/

I would think you can use the firm file for aureinand with cakes. Also you can set aureinand to boot to just the sysnand. I have aureinand installed just for sysnand crap and use cakes for everything else

Aureinand provides the firm files on the github

No you can't use

No you can't since the firmware.bin from aureinand is decrypted. (Open it in hexeditor and you can read 'firm') the file from cakes fw is the same which provides the Nintendo update server and it is encrypted. I read nowhere how and if you could reencrypt it. Only chance to get it is if someone dumped it while it was available. But the only 9.2fw I found is for O3DS. Guess I'm out of luck. The firmware90.bin aureinand provides is the same I dumped from Sysnand but the boot success rate is nearly 0 when using it as firmware.bin. :(
