Hacking R4i SDHC on different flashcart

So I have bought this http://www.r4i3d-multi.com/Endownload.asp (the left one)
flashcart 2 years ago and updated my 3DS firmware one year ago to play the new Animal Crossing.

I would like to get it working again but sadly, the card is not supported anymore. So I was wondering if I could get the card working again by using a kernel made for another flashcart. http://www.r4i3d-multi.com/Endownload.asp for example. Would this be possible?

Very bad idea. Firmware updates from other flashcards might brick your R4i completely.

edit: But wait, will that also brick my 3DS or just the flashcart? It's not like it can get any worse.
