Hacking Question about 3ds firmware

Hi guys ,I know the firmware for the 3ds xl can go from 4 to 6 etc but I was thinking of buying a 3ds from a pal who has it on 3ds 2 2:0-4E firmware ,is this ok for the gateway card ,i presume all i would need to do is use luigis mansion to update to 4.5 ?

Yeah, update using Luigi's Mansion and the gateway hack should work.
