Hacking Purchased used switch need some advice

Hi guys! I have been following the Switch CFW scene for a while now and decided to purchase a unpatched Firmware 6.2.0 Switch Serial: XAJ7003627xxx the switch itself is untouched and does not have any CFW/Homebrew installed on it. Please keep in mind that I am a complete noob at his.

So, I'm a bit confused:
-The switch is running on 6.2.0 will I be able to install Atmosphere right away?
-Is it recommended to upgrade the firmware from 6.2.0 to the latest 8.1.0 then install Atmosphere?

The question is how and where to start??

Yeah you can update safely. Custom Firmware works on the latest 8.1.0 firmware.

Or you install cfw first, make a nand backup and then update without burning fuses.

Thanks for clarifying! I think I might just install cfw on 6.2.0 and do a Nand backup. Will I be able to use the latest Atmoshpere, Payload Fusee bin and Tegra RCM on 6.2.0?
