4.50 is definitely fine, but you'll want to update to 4.55 or 5.05 for HEN. It's pretty simple once you do that. You can even use something like PS4Serve so you can host the exploit locally. It's not permanent though. You'll have to enable HEN again if you reboot or shutdown.

yes i know that the higher version of the software will run the more games. The list of games is on the Internet I think. So there is no problem with the "cuh-2016b" model?

Hen stand for homebrew enabler, the method isn't permanent. For the ESP8266 you need a PC to write the 4MB bin image on to the board. Since you have firmware 4.50 you can either go with 4.55 if your blu-ray drive doesn't work, or 5.05 if it has no problem. No downgrade for system firmware.

You don't need that. You can host it on an Android device, or you can use the online versions. As for downgrading, no, once you are on 5.05 cannot go back.

HEN stands for Homebrew Enabler. Once you enable it, you can install and run games installed through the debug menu.

The last question, what do you mean by "not permanent"? That shut down or restart the console will all be back? I thought it was always enough to turn off and turn on the console and homebrew would be permanently installed in the console, just to run "backups" of games.

You have run the exploit every time it coldboot(restart/shut down), ps4 doesn't have a permanent cfw yet. The exploit allows you to run games in fake pkg format, essentially being unsigned.

1) what do you mean "blu-ray"? blu-ray drive works but I do not understand what Blu-ray has to do with HEN ...

2) I also read that HEN does not support some PKG (unsigned) so how do I know what is signed and where to download?

Version 5.05 probably has no negatives as I have read on this forum, but 4.55 is older ... Is not it a shame to update to version 5.05 which is from 2018? What if CFW comes out tomorrow when everything goes online and will only be for version 4.55? it is probable?

1. You cannot update (past 4.55 IIRC) if your DB drive is broken.
2. Do not ask where to download here, it will get you banned. Just use google. A f-signed package will be noted as such wherever you get it from.
3. The only dif between 4.55 and 5.05 for me is 4.55 I can let go into sleep mode, my Pro w/ 5.05 I cannot, it will crash. Other than that are the games/updates that require the newer FW. I doubt there will be coldboot CFW for 4.55, but what do I know?
4. There is an exploit for each FW version, they are not interchangeable. If you upgrade to 4.55 and stay there then you need to use the exploit pack for 4.55. If you update to 5.05 then use the exploit for that version.


I really recommend that you read the AIO tutorial. All of your answers are in there, in one spot. Kiwi did an awesome job and I personally feel like you are doing a disservice by not taking advantage of the results of his hard work and ongoing updates to it.
