This is infinitely useful, since I'm not updating my PS3 until things smooth out.

But, I just got a new harddrive, so I wouldn't have been able to get updates.

This would have been handy a couple if days ago, for that monstrous Heavy Rain Move patch. Good tool - do you just FTP across, and overwrite what's in the games folder, or is it an install file (like PS3 OFW updated) from USB?

It's a .exe that runs under Windows. You tell it where your games are then and it lists them along with their versions. You can then update them. Btw it's been updated to 1.2 which lets you scan your /dev_hdd0/GAMES folder via FTP and then update.

why is everyone so scared of updating their games over ps3? its always worked for me, just start the game the first time, and let it update w/o problem

Just sometimes the games stop running if you use a backup manager. :S

what happens if u use a modified eboot wont the update mess that up?
Also i get "unhandled exception" error when i try to use this.
Im using windows 7 64 bit.

I think it would yeah. But why are you using a modified eboot anyway? Still on 3.4.1? Do you have .NET framework installed?

im still on 3.41 and use a ps3key with spoofed firmware.
Pretty sure .NET framework is upto date but will check.

So update to 3.55 and get one of the custom firmwares. You won't be able to run newer games on 3.41 forever you know.

thats a personal choice, and theres no real benefit for using 3.55 CFW right now.

How about fixing the app so it works correctly.
Im staying on 3.41 for as long as i can.

Once you have the update downloaded how do you install it?

It isn't a PS3 homebrew. It's a Windows application. So just run the .exe in Windows.
