Hacking Possible to downgrade firmware... Maybe.

So I was watching some ps4 videos and found something interesting.

When the guy swapped out the hard drive, it asked him to install the update file through a external usb drive, since the update data would be wiped because of the primary drive removal.

My thinking is that the ps4 does not know what update that it is on and relays on the hard drive for that information. So if a update file is installed through a usb device then the system would use that firmware.

PS4 has a NAND chip inside of it, so I seriously doubt it would work that easily. Otherwise, this could have been used on PS3 consoles for all those years in between 3.56-4.82
