I jumped for joy when I first read about this(in Ngamer mag) then i read on it said 2008

I can't wait that long for some contra action.

Its been like 15 yr's since I fell in love with contra 3 on the SNES.

Just looked at the site, god I love style of music in these type of games (turrican being a good one)

It say's buy now??!? but I'm sure i saw it down for 2008 elsewhere.

This an BANGAI-O Spirits (new treasure shoot em up) are on my most wanted list.

Come on Konami Release it today you know you want too.

Besides the grappling hook, the controls are nearly exactly those of Contra III, with the dual weapon system from that game returning. Grabbing two weapon powerups of the same type will upgrade the characters firepower even further. Powerups can be discarded so that another player can pick them up.

Konami representatives confirmed six 2D levels and three 3D "base" stages at E3 2007 [2]. The stages pay frequent homage to Contra, Super C, and Contra III. Three difficulty modes are available: easy, normal, and hard. Easy will be accessible to novices (but will not provide the full ending), whereas normal will be "at least as difficult as the original Contra", and hard will be a huge challenge for hardcore players. Konami confirmed 2-player ad-hoc play during E3. While there is no difference between the four initial playable characters, other gameplay modes will be added for replayability.

Sounds pretty cool, the controls are the same and there's a co-op mode!

Defintely owns Contra 3 with messed up layers on SNEmulDS.

But I play Contra or Super C most of the time on my R4.. Just a little substitute.

Now THIS is what I'm talkin' 'bout! Insane action, death and destruction. Shoot the bunnies and stomp the flowers. No little kiddie/cutesy characters in this one.

My nephew and I plan to blast through this one together. It's gonna be a good one!

Well this is a nice surprise, I didn't know Contra 4 was coming out so soon. Hopefully that November 13 release date is accurate and doesn't get pushed back any.

I've always loved the Contra games, even though I suck hardcore at them. It's always satisfying to play a "shoot anything and everything" game now and then.

It has a diferent tune than the original one, at least it seems so z.z

edit: actually its completely diferent than the minibosses.. its more "energetic"

Yeah, the Konami's official website is going to use user-generated music for their home page. Get a grip on reality canuck.



It's their own rendition, and a shitty one at best, have patience little boy and someone (probably me) will rip a higher quality sample.

This game is going to be fucking sweet.
