Adding any of the games to switch nes online would be redundant. I'm not against the idea, but I don't see it happening because of this current predicament, just would be another redundant situation.
It's not really a trend, it was coincidence that Nintendo provided backwards compatibility. Second, the games on that collection are not the original nes games. They was based on the playstation Japanese exclusive "Rockman Complete works" a collection of games that was not emulated, but reprogrammed to work on the psx sold in Japan only. (Currently downloadable on psn for PS3, PSP, Vita) Third, since it is a gamecube game, you can only use gamecube controllers officially. The virtual consoles let you use wii controls as options and are the original nes game sources. :ninja: Capcom provides license = permission for nintendo to distribute the game as "Virtual Console" Nintendo's team provides the emulation necessary to play said games, then publish and markets the game. That's what they do. Yeah nintendo does most of the work only cause capcom gave permission. In the case of the first legacy collection (Since we was talking about nes) Digital Eclipse was the one responsible for the emulation in that one. But capcom still did more than the VC version by providing all the extra content for museum data like artwork, fun facts and game development notes. Then still responsible for publishing and marketing the game. In case of X Legacy collection, they did use money to get the disc/cart formats of the games for retail. Even though they don't do much for the "Virtual console" version, Capcom is still responsible for why it's on there in the first place. But I probably should have said redundant instead of conflicting. The legacy collection exist along side of the 3DS Virtual console titles. You can pay $5 each for all 6 for a total of $30 or pay HALF that price for the same number of games plus extra content. The museum content and extra gameplay modes they added to the legacy collection at HALF the price of the virtual console version. It would be easy to guess which one common people would buy. Though I would have to wonder why capcom would release it on 3DS when all 6 nes games was already available on 3DS eshop before the doing so. (Probably cause they could make more money selling it than the VC version.) Makes sense right? The legacy collection exist on switch already. Adding any of the games to switch nes online would be redundant. I'm not against the idea, but I don't see it happening because of this current predicament, just would be another redundant situation. Not only is NES games for online subscribers only, but they wouldn't buy a sub hoping for specific games to be playable on there.
