Hardware need new drive for wii

So my USB drive that I use for USB Loader GX kicked the bucket. It was 500GB. I want to replace it with either a USB SSD drive or flash drive. Maybe even an SD card but that is probably too expensive and likely too slow. Has anyone had trouble loading backups from a flash drive? Can anyone recommend a good cheap replacement?

I recommend western digital mypassport as a HDD if you need a lot of space, or a 64gb cruzer fit if you don't need much space. Both have worked for me without any issues

you don't even need the 'my passport' ... just get the 'elements' version.

I am unfamiliar with the differences, but every time I mod a wii for someone I always recommend the mypassport. I have 2 of them and they work without issues or an external power source. Thats what has always worked flawlessly for me, so that is what I recommend.

I run my games from an SDHC card no problem.
