Has anyone been noticing the infrequent checkpoints on the switch version?

I watched a video of the ps4 version and there are way more checkpoint saves.

When you say infrequent, do you mean there are less checkpoints on switch, or do you mean the checkpoints are the same, but they don't always come up?

potentially, the person on ps4 played a lower difficulty with more checks?

I meant the switch saves less. I'm on the second last difficulty which could be why.
