Homebrew installing CFW on 2dsXl

so ive read pretty much everything and i have everything i need. My main issue is how am i suppose to buy a game from the eshop when both my 3dsxl and 2ds are on 11.4 and doesnt eshop require you to update just to access the eshop? so what im assuming is id have to goto 11.5 on my 3dsxl buy the game,then Downgrade to 11.3 and then continue from there with the systransfer on the 2dsxl? is this correct? unless theres another way of buying games on a lower firmware that im not aware of. Plz and ty

Well since you need CFW on one of the consoles prior that one should already be on 11.5 since you can update all the way if you're using Bootstrap and Luma.

So no. Update your current console to 11.5, then when you get the 2dsxl, update that right away. Now you can do the transfer.

If your system is running A9LH/B9S and Luma CFW there is 100% no reason not to update your console. Then you can access the eShop

Um.... If you're in 11.4 or 11.5 you can't get CFW without another system that's already been CFW'd.

yea both my consoles have CFW luma 8.1, i was under the impression id have to downgrade to 11.3 then go from there to the N2dsXl. Wasnt aware i can just do the transfer from a 3dsxl CFW on 11.5 to stock 2dsxl 11.5. Thx

i like to hold off a bit once there out since no really knows what was placed in the update, i like others assumed another way of detecting CFW so i was waiting a bit in case some random banwave came again.Looking into getting the 2dsxl pretty soon so wanted to clear a few things up before i purchased and updated my consoles.Thx for the input

There was no second banwave. That was just a public seed that got banned. Not to mention updating your DS has nothing to do with how Nintendo was finding people to ban them. You can update a DS using B9S+Luma with no issues what so ever. Obviously it's your choice, but by not updating you're just working harder vs smarter.

One of the more experienced users correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to be on the latest fw to do the system transfer? So the op will have to update the n2ds xl + whichever of the cfw's system being used as the source.

Revers. it would be the 3dsXl that would have to be updated(which i already did to 11.5). Went back to finish reading the guide as it also stated that i just didnt read that far into it.Made my nand backups already as well and bought one of the games. im all set just waiting for the 28th at this point
