I am a Nintendo Switch hacking noob. I just bought a "jailbroken" Nintendo Switch. It is an unpatched XAW1003793**** running official firmware 12.0.1. The seller did not include the microSD card (that I assumed had the injected payloads). The seller did not include the RCM Loader Payloads Injector with the RCM jig. I think the seller did a system reset before selling it to me. So does that mean the current "state" of the Switch the same as before the jailbreaking? The hacking guide requires a previously unmodified Nintendo Switch. I plan to start from the beginning of the NH Switch Guide. I just ordered a RCM Loader Payloads Injector with a RCM jig to use with my 256GB microSD card.

You have to rehack the console every time it is turned off so what they sold you is a unhacked console that has the potential to be hacked, that is unless it has an internal payload injector which is unlikely as you would have noticed it by now. Hacking the console is easy as long as you follow the guide.

There's no telling what the previous owner may have done. Check to see if the console is banned. If not, you're good to go.

The internal memory has 25.9GB of free memory. I think that 25.9GB is the amount of free memory on a brand new Switch. I am thinking that the Switch is back to the unhacked state. I do not have a RCM jig right now to put it in RCM mode. Would a system reset clear the internal payload in sysNAND if there was any?

The seller advertised the Switch as banned. I am ok with that.

Internal storage should be 32 Gb which ends up 29. something Gb, not Mb. Check settings. Maybe they left games or something idk but it should not be 25 Mb.

And you can't do anything hacking wise until you get the jig, or you can just use a paperclip as a jig. You also have to have an sd card to put files on it to hack the Switch, and you'll probably want a decent sized one if you want a decent amount of games.

The Switch is always unhacked every time you power it on. You have to reapply the hack each time you turn it on.

There's nothing on internal storage that they could leave to leave the switch hacked so basically you have a stock Switch right now until you get the items you need and apply the payload after using a jig in RCM.

You could just format the whole console and start fresh if you want it won't effect anything. Now that you have a hackable Switch you're good there isn't anything that can make it unhackable unless Atmosphere stops making CFW on new firmwares.

Sorry for the MB typo. It should be 25.9GB of free internal memory. I am going to revise my comment to change it to 25.9GB. I agree with you and the other commenters that there is probably no internal payloads in the sysNAND. I now agree that it is a stock unpatched Switch right now with the potential to be jailbreaked.

It's not probably, there's no such thing as payloads in the system. When you turn on the switch it is unhacked until you send the payload from rcm.

I think what CompSciOrBust meant by 'internal payloa injector' is whether it has a modchip inside.
That is correct. I meant like a TrinketM0 or a Rebug SwitchMe chip. I.e a physical hardware modification.

Edit: If you can get one I would recommend an internal injector. They're much nicer than using dongles imo. I had a rebug chip in my old console and it was so much nicer.

He said in the first post he has an unpatched switch. I guess it would still be possible that someone would want one on an unpatched switch so they wouldn't have to inject payloads? I never had a modchip on switch so I don't know if that's how it works but I would say highly unlikely that someone will bother to have a chip on an unpatched switch when they already have a hacked switch for free.

The seller was using a RCM Loader Payloads Injector with the RCM jig on the unpatched Switch prior to selling it to me. There was not a modchip.

First off, don’t use a rcm jig just modify a joycon and add a button, I made a tutorial on how to do this a while back I’ll see if I can find it for you and repost. Secondly there are apps that can inject payloads from pc and please just backup your games don’t download them support the devs

Not sure bumping a six month old thread will convince OP to only use backups. Might have already missed that window :P

modchips are nice. i have 2 switches one has an Trinket but its basically useless because it cant read sd cards anymore. i got a new switch where i have to use an injector.
