Hacking How long do Gateway cards last?

Hmm, I want to clarify that I didn't claim that the spring was essential to holding the card into place, just that the spring might break sooner if you pull out the card instead of using the spring mechanism properly. (Likening it to pushing in a computer's disc tray manually instead of with the button.)

Hmm, I tried it myself and it slides in smoothly. I don't see how it can possible damage the spring. It's as if it doesn't have a spring, just slide in and it's ready to go. It slides out pretty easy, but not too easy. It says in there secure enough, I'll be using this method from now on!

Only just realised mine had a spring, I'd be more worried about something going wrong with my 3ds like the circle pad or the dpad and having to spend extra money on buying a replacement with 4.1-4.5 firmware

You can buy replacement parts instead of having to replace the whole system. The 4.5 3ds i got off craigslist had broken shoulder ribbons and i replaced those and it works great now
