I'm struggling to get n64 games to boot on retroarch (latest nightly 02.12)

I've loaded it through the inbuilt SX OS homebrew launcher and I've also launched the main homebrew launcher through SX OS but everytime I try I just get a crash.

Ideally I wouldn't mind an nsp of a working version so I can utilise the ram but can't seem to find one, the one on the retroarch site doesn't state if it has overclocking implemented.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a working nsp with overclocking and n64 running smoothly or advise how I can get this working via the homebrew launcher thanks

just realised the link is in the quote too, c'mon dude...

Mupen64 only works through a Retroarch NSP, doesn't work from the homebrew menu

This is still wrong. It also works through the Atmosphere "have any nsp launch hbmenu" loader.ini setting, and it also works through this:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/homebrew-menu-loader-legal-nsp.518433/

The OP was told this before - but instead of trying any of the other solutions - was adament, that he should doit by installing retroarch as an nsp (also works) - then asked where he could get it.

Then no on answered.

Then he created this thread. Because visibility by duplication. :)

Helm this position - and have this subforum become a freakshow in no time again.

Yes viability, as I asked a follow up question that was ignored, visibility solves this, I appreciate your follow though and the time it takes to help.

However I respectfully would like to point out that this forum is becoming a freakshow due to the wanten need to be belittle people on a public forum and the sense of grandeur that derives from this.

The nsp is available at the usual place. If it isnt updated yet - you could wait, or use any of the other methods described.

There also was an "early compile package" linked in this forum, that also includes the new build as an nsp. You might have to read a few pages back. My current guess is Retroarch thread page 163, but I didnt look it up.

Looking forward to your third thread tomorrow, if someone doesnt link you the nsp by then. ;)

(Hint - I dont have the nsp installed, I use the hbmenu nsp - it also works - it even is less of a hazzle if you already have the new build installed as an nro.)

As I said, I appreciate your input and you advice, got the nsp installed now and all looks OK, banjo kazooie is stuttering but that'll hopefully be solved in time

Doesnt leave a link for other people that could find and use this thread.

(Its not that I want to be harsh all the time, but hey - basics. :) I couldnt link the RA nsp, f.e. - because I havent confirmed, that its works. You have... :) Come on... link it.. ;) )

Is there not a beginner question thread or subforum where posts like this can go? This is ludicrous.

If you are using the most recent Beta of SX OS, you can now utilize the more RAM by holding "R" on an NSP-installed game you have on your home menu while starting it and it will take you to the homebrew menu.

Hi do you mean hold r while in retroarch o select game

You say that, but I've been watching users post problems in the "retroarch thread" about why the dang thing keeps crashing, and responses like "you're fucking it up" come from the dude distributing the project so the OP probably felt like he had no choice.

It's not like it's super complex, but until like yesterday there was no clear information available in the official thread on why it was crashing.

Select a game on the switch menu (not retroarch) while holding R. It will take you to the homebrew menu instead of the game you launched. Done.
