Hardware Help with Gamecube controller

I have been trying to play with my cousins, but all of a sudden, the gamecube controller's joystick input keeps going up.

This problem has just started. I am using a Mayflash Gamecube to wii u adapter.

Yeah this seems to happen quite often as shown in this thread. The only fix I've found is rebooting the console.

You’re supposed to plug the controller into the adapter just so you know.
