Hacking Gateway 3DS save file rollback?

Hey guys,
In Shin Megami Tensai IV, got to level 30 and saved my game and put it away. Later that day my friend's toddler somehow found it and started messing with my 3DS. When it got to him, it was logged on normal mode and out of gateway mode. I try to start my game on SMT4 and see that the save files have reverted back to level 20. I have no idea how this happened or how to get my save file back to its correct state. Anybody have any ideas?

You need to press home and close the game before Gateway will save, your savegame is gone forever.
