You will require wup installer in your homebrew app folder and any games will go in the install folder on your sd. Wup installer allows you to install compatible files to nand or usb (recommended) but you will have to plug your hdd in to the wii u and format it to wii u file system. Your hdd will also have to be powered from wall socket or a y cable connected to the other usb port on the wii u.

Plenty of tutorials here if your stuck but its an easy process. Please bear in mind that you will have to be on custom firmware in order to install and run other region games. I assume you have haxchi/cbhc or similar method to mod the console.

Hello.:)

You can use the WUP-Installer GX2 for your Work:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/wup-installer-gx2/

You need your current Wii U SD Card with your Homebrew Apps on.
Or you can also use a bigger One (256-512 GB should be enough, bigger SD Cards are maybe very slow and have "maybe" Issues...).
Please checkt if it already formatted with FAT32 and copy your Files from the smaller SD Card over
and then your Game Folders into the Folder "install" (please make it if it does not exist)

Then please launch from the Homebrew Channel the WUP Installer GX2.
Here you can select the folders you want to install.
Then it asks you where you want to install (NAND or USB) your Games - they should be installed on the Wii U formatted USB HDD.:)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Thanks for the reply,
1. I have the y cable
2. External is formatted by the console.
3. wup installer is on the wii u
4 My question is can i play the 2tb of games straight from HDD i have looked for a tutorial and i guess im dumb but i cant get it to work. so once its formated, i just transfer the games from my pc to The external drive to the "install folder"

Unfortunately no.:(
You have to format your HDD with the Wii U and INSTALL the Games from the SD Card with the WUP-Installer GX2 on it.:)

No as I believe the hdd is tied to its original console if used before and are not transferable between consoles unfortunately.

Not sure if it would hurt to try however, probably ask to reformat or just show nothing but i am guessing there!

And thanks to @alexander1970 for the bits i missed!

ok so Thank you for reply, so basically i have to take the games on my small Sd then i have to install them on the larger sd threw the app?

To miss not a Step of the whole Procedure please.:D

1.Format your HDD on the Wii U - please plug it in,Boot up the Wii U and it will ask you to Format it.
2.You can use your small SD Card for the install
OR
3.a Bigger one to get more Games on it

If you want to use a bigger SD Card, you have to copy all Files from the smaller SD Card over please.

The SD Card is the Source Device where your downloaded Games comes (into the Folder "install" please)
The USB HDD (formatted on your Wii U) ist the Target Device where your Games will be installed with the WUP-Installer GX2.

I hope now it is good explained for you.:D

Good luck.:)

Yes please.:D
If you select NAND you will get a "Problem" very quick...
If you have the Black Wii U you have near 32 GB and for the White Wii U 8 GB of Space...that gvies you not really a big "Free Space" for your Games.:D

Also remember the wii u is limited to 300 games on the menu so may have to choose or swap every now and then. I also noticed your pics have everu region there by the looks of it so i would recommend only installing your region for cleanness and if you ever need to install updates and or dlc. That way you won't install the wrong region updates /dlc!
