Fear Effect (1) announced for PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch

Limited Run Games has announced that they're porting the original Fear Effect to modern platforms.



A lost classic finally returns. Fear Effect challenged assumptions on game aesthetics and art style when it debuted on PlayStation, and decades later its extraordinary blend of cell-shading and motion video still dazzles the eye… and the mind. I'm a fan of the original two Fear Effect games, and I was shocked to find out that the prototype of Fear Effect Inferno recently leaked. It's a shame that Stan Liu, the series creator, passed away in 2018 because there is still a fanbase for this somewhat obscure series.

I beat 1 and 2 but used an emulator. Those games are hard as hell without save states.

You know, I haven't played the games in ages, but I know I finished both of them several times on a PS2. I can confirm they're not impossible, but some sections do require a bunch of tries.

I'm sure if I tried them today, I'd get frustrated much faster (20 years later, oy)
