Can I use a 2tb external USB c drive for roms? For all the emulators or retroarch? Is there a special way to do it aside from exfat? I'd like to velcro my external drive with MAME and all the other goodies to the back of the switch if possible.

Thanks.

Not on with Nintendo's HOS but you can use your external hdd on L4T linux when you dock your device and it works fine.

If you want to load from usb without the dock on CFW, there's is no solutions for now.
I think some dev are working on geeting usb access but that doesn't mean it will apply for what you're trying to do.

Thanks for the reply. Well that stinks. I know we can run xci straight from USB but would love to put all the emulators and roms on there. Maybe in the future.

Thanks

There is currently Beta support for USB, but so far it is only used by a Goldleaf build that supports this KIP, usually to install backups.

HDDs can be used to load back-ups if you are using SX OS as CFW, but as far as I know only Switch games can be played that way and not ROMs for emulation or other stuff.
