Personally, I'm a fan of pSX. Why fuck with plugins if you don't have to? Granted, ePSXe is probably better than in when you get down to it and do a little customizing but what do I know about PSX emulation.

On my non-crap computer, I use ePSXe with Petes OpenGL plugin set to the "Nice" Default and external SPU sould plugin.

Testy are we? Fuck around with the plugin a little. Check the specific game fixes if the video plugin has some.

If you computer is good enough, use Pete's OpenGL2. If not, try OpenGL. As for configurations, you'll have to fiddle with that yourself.

If you're talking about BIOS files, that's the same thing as asking for roms.

These video guides are very helpful and I used them to configure my ePSXe:
    Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc_jCVSwjLM
    Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiFV-pr4tC0

For Final Fantasy VII and VIII the best plugins are P.E.Op.S video, ePSXe SPU core for sound, and P.E.Op.S for the CDR drive.

I use these plugins today and I run FFVII smoothly. I lost my FFVIII game (I create back-ups from my PS discs to play on ePSXe), so I'm not sure how it will run.
