Yesterday we were wondering here if it's possible to run cartridge games on 9.5 emuNAND and how. If someone knows here...

Sigh, you people need to read the damn "noob" threads that are stickied.

You CAN NOT run CARTRIDGES with games that came out after 9.6 on a N3DS with a CFW emunand on 9.5.

Period.

END
OF
STORY

To play these games you have the following options:

1.) Purchase and use a Gateway flashcart.
2.) Locate and install FW spoofed cia version of the games.
3.) Forget using CFW and piracy and just update your sysnand and move on.

Forget piracy? Fine. But how is trying to run your legitly purchased cartridges on your legitly purchased 3DS piracy? What's criminal is Nintendo requiring people who just want cheats like NTR and the ability to back up their saves in a meaningful way to resort to such extreme measures.

There is nothing criminal about Nintendo trying to prevent the use of hacking software (which is what cheats are). The save shit is fucked, yeah, but what can you do?

The problem here is that we suddenly have a MASSIVE influx of people trying to use tools and software that, lets face it, was SOLELY designed with the idea of enabling piracy to play legitimate games. Well guess what, you can't do that. If you want to play new games with this software you are going to have to back the damn game up and convert it. End of story.

Yeah. I figured that one out several pages back thanks to you guys. But as more and more people downgrade I suppose we'll keep getting these questions over and over. Speaking of playing newer games, is there a tidy list like this one somewhere but for 3DS games?

Unfortunately a few games aren't on it (like special versions that only came preinstalled like NSMB2 Gold Edition) and it doesn't list most updates, which can cause problems as well.

He meant, stop asking how to run cartridges on 9.5 emuNAND as you can't, one option is to update your sysNAND to play those cartridges and forget piracy. He didn't say running cartridges was piracy.

I know. I guess I misread that a bit. Still, there are other reasons to get full system access, as we both mentioned.

Thank you. This is exactly what I meant.

I mean jesus the number of new posters asking things that should be documented in the stickies is even starting to get on MY nerves, and I am the guy who usually defends the noobs.

edit:

Case in point the thread that had 3+ pages of noobs all trying to help each other do something that was being discussed in detail in a tutorial thread on the first place. And they went WAY off course with it.
