it could be possible that a PC is just repeating the commands for turbo hop .

I have had weird things happen to me online in Mario Kart 8, and lag is more or less the culprit. Like this for an example:



The Blue Shell flew past me (I'm Toadette), even though I was in 1st place. Not sure what happened, but it could just have been a glitch or massive lag somehow.
It eventually disappeared after a while, it never crashed into anyone.

That it can. The horn's pretty useful when gliding over and you have opponents nearby.

I used up the horn yesterday as I was in first place and could've lost it had I not hit 'em with it.

At least for two consecutive times I had the invicibility star and I lost it due to a lightning bolt as I was planning on using as soon as I'd get to the next item. I'd say it's a matter of luck.

Compared to earlier Mario Kart games, like Mario Kart Wii for an example, I find Mario Kart 8 to not be as item heavy. It feels like it relies more on skill this time around. Luck still plays a big role, but hey it's Mario Kart after all.
