Gaming Cheating in GTA mess up anything?

I'm very far in the game right now.. but surprisingly I haven't cheated yet... usually that would be the first thing I do in GTA to joyride and such.. but I haven't learn't any codes yet.. so i ask.. if I cheat, then continue the story line.. will it mess up anything?

Yeah I'm wondering this aswell, I usually mess around in GTA games with cheats (Vice City lol) though I have been awfully sober in GTA: CW. Anyone know if cheats screw up your save?

Doesn't cheating using the game's built-in cheats prevent you from getting 100%?

Why not just back up your save to your computer? That way if anything happens you can just go back to where you left off.

Do what the poster above suggested and backup your save. I put in the infinite money cheat and now I'm stuck with $9999999 which makes making money in the game useless. (The game was on auto save)

No, but there is a record of how many times you cheated. If you want it to stay 0, then don't save after you cheat. In fact, this is why the game turns off auto-save when you cheat.

I don't see how it's cheating if you beat the whole game first. That's MY policy. XD
