Apple Changing Wifi DNS Server via iPhone: Does it screw something up?

Now the question I have is...
Does changing your wifi's DNS Server screw it up? Does every device have a seperate DNS server? I want to change it because I just find out about a iPhone hack that I want to try out, but I don't want to make the wifi unusable for the rest of my families devices. My sister has an iPhone, my mom has her laptop, and my dad has his phone.

Will saving my current DNS server number in my notes and copy it back later resolve if I find a problem?

The DNS settings in your iPhone only affect your device. It will not affect others in the network.
The DNS settings in your router are distributed to all devices set to automatically retrieve DNS settings. The DNS settings there are usually set to the ISP DNS or to Google's DNS.
At any time, swapping back to the old DNS settings will work since they should work for you currently.

As for the iPhone hack you're trying out... Sounds fishy to me. You should post the details so more experienced people than I can tell you if it's safe or not.

Ok here's the link. I would like to know whether its safe for iOS 6.0.1. When I click on the certificates, it says they are not trusted.
