i am trying to install a new anti virus

i downloaded panda cloud ( from the official site ) and i opened the setup , it downloaded some files and then the window disappeared ........ normally another window should come , but nothing came
i tried downloading panda again ( through torrent ) same thing happened ( exept it didn't download anything but extracted the file )

and yeah i checked the program files and nothings there .

any idea what the problem is and how to install it ?

Try installing Microsoft Security Essentials and see if that installs

You might have a virus already if you cannot install any AV (downloading an AV from a torrent site is also a very very very bad idea)

Bad news wasim- many pieces of malware will try to detect and prevent installation of anti virus software and equivalents and it usually looks exactly like what you just described.
You are going to have to go through the manual malware removal process first and you are probably going to want another PC to download it from (or use a liveCD on your current one) as the programs that behave as you described will often try to redirect you away from some of these sites/tools if you try to download them through an infected system.
Trouble is some steps here are not necessarily advanced to do but to know what goes at each step (especially if someone goes wrong) is more troublesome.

Still three programs
rkill http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill
superantispyware http://www.superantispyware.com/ (this comes as a com file which is an executable file and most malware programs do not detect or hinder it)
malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ (some might choose superantispyware or malwarebytes but I have both at hand)

Some malware programs do proper detection but most just name so try to name your programs something odd (87y8ds7y6g.exe) or even name them for standard windows programs (explorer.exe and what have you).

After this it gets a bit more troublesome.
Tools then are combofix

Many will tell you do not just run this program on a whim (have a good reason to do it) and it is fairly good advice unless you know how to fix OS installs and are inclined to do so.

This is a somewhat safer take on what combofix does.

The tools above should take care of it but you might want a mbr fixing tool as well.

After this we are getting into the proper malware removal world which I will cover if needs be.

Malware removal is trickier than it has even been but certainly do not just jump to reformatting your hard drive as some might tell you.

install first Threatfire , run a Scan, delete all crappy files and than install your Antivirus ( I recommend Avast).
Threadfire runs very nicely with every Anti-Virus.

@FAST6191
I agree with you.

@Wasim ->panda cloud is a cloud based antivirus,so the best thing to do is disconnect from internet and then run your setup.
I have one and i don't have any problems with it.I even run it simultaneously with MSE.
