Hacking Can't backup my nand

After some confusion, I started the process over and formatted my sd card. When I follow step 1, it's stuck on >>READING and there is no progress bar. What do I do?

I had that too, waited for a minute and got ERROR SD Full.

I had only ~800MB free space on my 2GB SD card, so i used a 4GB one and that did the trick

Okay. I'm actually updating the GW3d 4.5 right now. I'll try another card. Wil lI still be able to back up my system nand going in reverse order?
