There is plenty of guides how to update,

Short version, pull out your sd card>download latest atmos AND hekate>extract the files>copy paste to sd card>overwrite files yes>boot ofw> update firmware>run tegraexplorer payload>dump firmware>boot atmos>use daybreak to update.
Download latest sigpatches>extract and copy paste to sd card.

THAT HURT MY BRAIN, i dont even know half that crap or how to do it, followed the steps for atmos and heakte, over written files and used the fuse.bin file and it booted to the switch main menu ....

Updating takes a couple of minutes so i dont see what sucks?
I did 3 of my switches one by one in under 30 min without rushing.

I dont see anything unclear with my guide, you boot ofw then you update the firmware in the settings.

You put your tegraexplorer.bin on the sdcard in the payloads folder, then launch it with hekate by pressing payloads and the tegraexplorer.
Go down and press dump firmware, choose sysnand and it will dump the firmware from sysnand and place in on the sd card.
Then launch emunand, launch daybreak and choose the folder with the dumped firmware.

What do you mean by safe? The latest firmware and atmos?
People have been using it since december…

yeah bro you are good at this but for people who dont ever do this kind of stuff it definitely sucks. I surely can do it but for me is not that easy and it would be better to leave the console like it is now. Swallow your ego and realize not every person in the planet thinks like you

Can you do the updates using a MAC instead of a PC? And where do you get the Atmos and Hekate files these days? I ran into this issue today trying to DBI install a few new games. My MOD guy moved so I must figure it out myself. I don't want to mess up what works well but I am sure I can figure it out. Thanks for any help you send my way.

Just make a copy of your SD card before trying to update everything.
That way you can always revert back and you'll have your Hekate settings file at hand.
