Homebrew Bunjallo?

About how fast does a file download on Bunjallo browser? )For example an mp3 file downloads at about how fast?) Also can you put Bunjallo on Acekard 2i? Thanks in advance.

Acekard supports it and the max the DS will do is 14kbps.

An average MP3 file is about 5mb?

5 * 1.000.000 * 8 bit/byte = 40000000 bits
(Yes i know a mb is not exactly 10^6bytes.)
Using the 14kbps N64Temp says is the limit:

40000000 bits / 14000 bits/sec =2857,14 seconds.
2857,14/60=47,61min.
47 min and 0,61*60=36,6 seconds.

Soo 47min and 36 seconds to download an average mp3 file ^^ With 14kbps.

When N64Temp said kbps, he meant KBps, or at least I'm assuming so. At 14 KBps, a 5 MB file would take about 6 minutes to downlooad. Not particularly speedy or anything.

@WioWao: Your math is a bit off.....

GB -> MB -> KB -> B are all x1024, not 1000.
DS's speed is in KiloBytes (KB) not Kilobits (Kb).

5 MB = 5120 KB = 5,242,880 Bytes
5120 KB / 15KBps = 341.33 sec = 5.68 min to transfer a 5MB MP3.


And that's with a 15KB/s speed.
Monroeworld gives a speed of ~19.5KB/s which is a fairly consistent real-world speed in my experience with backing up/restoring games/saves/etc using NDS Backup Tool (Wifi) as well as downloading images with Bunjaloo

Oooh i couldnt understand why it would be so slow either. I remember dumping 32mb games didnt take that long ^^

From what I heard DS linux's browser can get up to 100KBps, but I've never gotten it to connect to wifi.

I can't even get DSLinux off and running. (i'm an idiot) If you lived in the days of dial-up, Bunjaloo is nearly acceptable.

I could get an 8Mb file (electroplankton, for the record) to download in approximately 12 minutes.

In another thread, I recently asked why Bunjaloo was so much slower that Linux, and it sounds like if the programmer took a good look at the latter, he could use the faster wifi libraries too.

Now if only he would implement tables...
