Okay sir please tell me how to objectively tell if something is good or bad

You can't

Why?

Because every judgement or valuation is inherently relative - NOT just morals
Truth is that debating moral issues is a commitment to civility

We need something other than personal feelings to guide our understanding of how we should react or decide on our mornings or marlities, otherwise we'll end up with violence as soon as our emotions tell us to

Duuuuude, Calm down,

Move On with Life.webp

But Annnccccciiiiiieeennnttttt

If just saying morality is subjective, it won't reduce the number of disagreements we have with others, it'll just remove the barriers we have for when those disagreements do happen

Why should we lose the ability to call things out as unquestionably morally wrong?

I'm not just talking about morals

I'm talking about something as simple as good and bad being subjective

and you have proven my point, you cannot prove otherwise

good and bad are ALWAYS subjective no matter what

Good and bad are part of morals, but THERE'S STILL A BASELINE
rather than stating things please explain them

because we can both state things - but in order to have other people believe you - you'll have to back up your claims

so please explain

1. how good and bad are part of morals (do you mean always?? So good ice cream is a moral statement?)

2. the baseline you are talking about, and please I will need objective data if you're claiming it's an objective baseline. If you think it's a subjective baseline, then we already agree

No the only tools you idiots have to convince one another about your worldview are insults or manipulation

Are you actually pissed? Because this just a Morning Post

you are deflecting

which is fine, there is no reasonable response possible if you are arguing good/bad are not subjective

You think I wanna risk our friendship? You'll become like Hippy one day
cranesbill

1. you're still deflecting

2. I as a general rule do not blame anyone for anything - as I don't believe in free will

As such, I think you're just you, and I don't blame you for being you. And if you don't physically or materially hurt me, I'll never ignore you or be mad at you

I'm a very simple guy

consider this

the mind is a machine

machines follow rules

you don't expect your computer to make a free decision, do you?

your computer decides what it will do based on an algorithm and the data

in a computer, if all variables are the same, the algorithm should always spit out the same result, right?

The human mind, as a complex organic computer, is the same way

as such you do not actually have the capability of making any decisions - everything is in a sense, determined by the circumstance, initial variables, the algorithm etc
