Hacking Away from the scene for a while - a few questions?

Hi Guys,

I know everyone hates answering the same questions over and over for people, but I cant see anything definitive on the Google.

I haven't played my 3DS in a while, and I own a gateway - Two days ago, I updated the gateway files to the latest version, no problem, updated my Emunand and hopped on some Mario Kart.
I tried to play again today, and I found I was banned - No sweat, I know its usually about 2 weeks for the ban to lift - I think I forgot to put my private header into that specific .3dz.

I was wondering:

1) If I wanted to "Unban myself" now, would making a new Emunand achieve this?
2) My Sysnand is on 9.2 - If I remember right, if I were to make a new Emunand, it would be at 9.2? Would I be able to install the latest update via CIA? And is it available to download (I understand that I cant ask for it here - Im sure its on "The Iso place" anyway)
3) I am using an n3DS - Would I need to find the update file that relates to my type of DS, or is it universal?

If there is anything else major that is like a NEED to know at the minute - please do also let me know.

EDIT: Also, I have seen that the new 10.5 update is safe to update Emunand to? Or is that only for o3DS?

1 not sure as never been banned
2 new 3ds can be updated to 10.5 except on rxtools n3ds and can be done by cia or through system settings old 3ds on any cfw
3 you need the correct o3ds or n3ds cia or will reult in a brick

Your last question: Yes you can update to emunand 10.5, just not on Rxtools N3DS. You'd have to use Reinand or CakesFW along with region patcher

What about a standard Gateway setup?

Also do you know if making a new Emunand would let me play online again? I can wait for my ban to lift, I would just rather not

Gateway setup is the same as CFW. They all use the same emunand. I personally can use Gateway, AND all other CFW if I wanted. Whichever one I want to boot into.

I believe when they ban you, it's the system that's banned. So since it'll still be the same system even after creating a new emunand, it won't work. You won't get banned, I want you to get that out of your head, especially when using cia's online. To not get banned with Gateway 3ds roms, you have to add your own private header to it from any 3DS game that you own.

I wish I kept my o3DS now, at least I could still do stuff! Im just a massive lurker, haven't checked back on the scene since GW released 3.1.0, so I dont remember all the little ins and outs for some bits - like bans for example

If you can't get ahold of a header, you can still install cia's. Cia's that still show up even when using CFW like ReiNand. You can install online capable games as cia's, and single player games as roms.
Cia games use the system as it's header.

I do have a header Several in fact! I just forgot to inject into one ROM!

Im a bit weird, I dont like using CIA too much, I only really use it for emulators, ect.
