Oh, a fellow car enthusiast. I prefer LS1 engines over the 2JZ, but if it had to be a Japanese engine, I'd pick the Toyota over let's say an RB26DETT.

Back on topic since this is a video game forum.

Was your 3DS originally hacked with arm9loaderhax (a9lh) before the error message cropped up after updating to firmware 11.8?

You'll have to update to boot9strap if you're coming from a9lh.
IF your 3DS was using the older hax, there's some bad news as someone earlier reported their A9LH new 3DS on 11.8 firmware could not update to B9S. Aka, soft bricked.

Thanks mate i think ive got the older hack when holding start i get godmode but thats about it

I gave you the wrong link if you're coming from A9LH. This is the one you should be using.

Before you try this, look below to verify if the latest version Luma3DS works for you or not.

***

Unless you already tried this, replace the boot.firm found on the root of your SD card with the one in the Luma3DS v9.1 archive. Unzip it with either 7-zip or WinRAR program.
After replacing the file, if you boot in GodMode9, see if your 3DS recognizes the SD card. There should be a [0:] SDCARD ( ) drive at the top row.

If that's present and if your 3DS actually has boot9strap, you should be able to boot into HOME Menu.

If it does not despite replacing boot.firm, try the updating from a9lh to b9s tutorial.

In the event you're able to bring the 3DS in working order again, you'll need to update with GodMode9 v1.7.1 and boot9strap v1.3.

Also update the custom firmware on your CTRNAND.

just had a look in god mode and doesn't seem to recognize the SD card [0:] SDCARD
