Thanks for both ideas, they sound great. For now I managed to get my hands on an spare part so the wii is working, I'm gonna try to see if bothe ideas work and I'll post the results. It might take me a bit longer to acctually get the spare part for the oscilator but it's a little easier once I...- luispic

Hardware DVD noise, after epoxy removal
Hello, I just got my hands on a D2E chip with epoxy, and I was able to remove it all using simple paint remover and lots of patience, but in the process i managed to mess up a part (this is a picture of a good drive found on the internet) (circled in red) and now my wii won't read anything...- luispic
