Post a picture of your desktop!

Late, but that looks more like a well-weathered wooden fence, with the darker areas being where the white paint's worn away entirely. Contemplating another overhaul, but really I need to upgrade my SSD. 128GB just isn't cutting it.

    Hardware Nintendo Labo announced

I'm assuming some sort of Switch software is bundled in, if you're paying $70 but need the joycons for... something. I like the idea of getting kids into engineering and constructing at a young age, but cardboard, for as cheap and flexible as it is, isn't really the most durable material...

Gaming Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux releases this Spring

Final/Apocalypse pretty much assumes you know close to the entirety of IV; if you try and get any backstory from the NPCs you'll just hear a hundred different variations on "there's this great guy named Flynn from some place called Mikado and I want to suck his dick". The entire setting spoils...

    Hardware CPU Upgrades

You'd have to toss your motherboard and RAM to upgrade to an 8700k. That's assuming that the SFF case doesn't use some custom-sized board or power supply.

NIS America announces upcoming press event

It's not one bad apple. If you have a project and you take a shit on it because it's not your main focus, even when you don't have other projects going on, you deserve to be booted, and so does everyone who looked at that and gave it a thumbs-up. No two ways about it. You're paid to do a job, so...

Blossom Tales sells double the amount of units on Switch launch day than lifetime sales on Steam

Marketing's got a lot to do with it. I never heard about it before a handful of sites started promoting its Switch release, and even if it had decent word-of-mouth, Steam's too big for it to reliably reach the front page without some way of going viral.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, new series

Unfortunately, it sounds like it's been canceled. I was on the fence for most of the season; it's a shame that I was actually looking forward to the next season after the final episode. I was kinda disappointed in that some of the new characters for this season had much smaller parts than their...

Nintendo and Nvidia team up to bring Gamecube and Wii classics to the Shield TV in China

What amuses me most about this is that the Gamecube and Wii line were powered by ATI/AMD graphics, not NVIDIA chipsets.

Ubisoft Celebrates The Holiday Season With Free PC Games

Well, this is what I got the first time I booted SSE, the day it released. I dunno if I'd call it all that well bug-checked. The fix count for the Unofficial SSE Patch is pretty big too.

Need Help on a Sylvania SYNET07526 7" Netbook

Pocket Paint (included in the package linked above) probably has the best chance of running on your machine; it only supports bitmap images, but if you're just drawing up simple maps and diagrams I doubt that'll be much of a setback.

Hacking Remote play on any computer? Virus?

To my knowledge, the only version for PS3 was designed specifically to work for Sony VAIO computers (and even then it never worked on my old notebook). The only existing workaround has to trick the executable in a way that Windows is likely going to detect as a virus. I'm fairly certain it's...

Hacking Ps3Xploit - Now Install CFW from 4.82 OFW : NOR/NAND Software Flash Writer + NOR Dumper Released

Unfortunately, most CFW installation methods still rely on exploits that were patched out seven years ago. The only feasible way (at the moment) is to at least partially downgrade the system to an older firmware where the exploits still worked, but PS3s that can't downgrade that far will brick...

Hacking Ps3Xploit - Now Install CFW from 4.82 OFW : NOR/NAND Software Flash Writer + NOR Dumper Released

Freaked out for a second about the exploit being USB-port specific... I've got a phat H01 with only two USB ports, and one is mangled beyond repair. Thankfully, it's the right one that's still intact. Even better, I've already got NieR and Tales of Vesperia downloaded from when I was trying to...

5 bucks on an 'enhanced' Valkyria Revolution, coming soon to PS4/Switch/Steam.

[GAMEBOY ADVANCE] Pokemon Gold / Silver - Clock prompt at start of game

I suppose it's technically possible that the uploader flags it as executable (and therefore possibly malicious) code, but that seems like a stretch.

    Gaming Best PC Gaming Controller

I've been using the newer versions of the SCP tool to use my DS3 controllers for years. Practically flawless as long as you've got a decent Bluetooth dongle; all you need to do is disable the notification sounds. It's a shame the battery life on the DS4 is so awful; it's getting harder to find...

Comment by 'FireEmblemGuy' in 'Windows 7; Jesus Fuck since when was it THIS bad'

@Arecaidian Fox Well, the good news is that the Fall update for Windows 10 fixes the VRAM bug, at the very least; if you've been having any other Skyrim issues on W10 I don't think I've been seeing them on my notebook.

Comment by 'FireEmblemGuy' in 'Windows 7; Jesus Fuck since when was it THIS bad'

Yeah, I'd definitely do some checks on the disk itself. Sounds like one of my old laptop HDDs before it bit the dust. 7200RPM doesn't mean a whole lot either if the drive has a massive request load, is running at SATA-I speeds, or is spending too much time correcting for errors. While Windows 7...
