Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

Kiwis are, in fact. Multiple users have their own attempts to archive the wiki, though Xkeeper makes it difficult because they can’t just make an occasional backup like a sane human being. At least one attempt has bore fruit, with hopefully it becoming the start of TKRF.

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

From what I heard people tried to talk about it on /v/ and /vr/, and the jannies swept up any mention of it. Not too familiar with the unmasked jannies and their connections, but if they’re in the same circles as TCRF staff it’d make sense that they’d shield them from criticism.

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

I can’t even imagine using the same username on multiple sites. Usernames are basically public encryption keys and, outside of niche situations where you *want* cross-site searches to grab you, should be unique. For one, it’s safer, and two, it’s more private. Anyone who has their adult...

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

So… the Sharty did it. I’m sure people on the Sharty also post here, so by your own logic GBATemp hacked TCRF and posted CP on that person’s DA. In fact, you very well could have. If those who post on the Sharty post here, then you, someone who seems familiar with the Sharty and the crime...

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

No? Why would I? And do you have any proof that was explicitly Kiwi Farms?

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

That’s pretty insulting towards the Trans individual who very politely disagreed with the practice. Do you, by any chance, have a phobia?

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

Those are some heavy-handed accusations. Why don’t you back it up with a source? I know, Xkeeper was way out of line.

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

You’re free to do your own research, all of the discussions are public on KF. They even have a convenient link taking you directly to their thread on TCRF.

Video game wiki "The Cutting Room Floor" targeted by harassment group, unknown amount of user passwords leaked

Bluster Bong gave a great writeup, but to add some details: Jo Li, a trans user of TCRF, disagreed with the logo changing into different pride flags. Xkeeper, the admin, banned them instantly. This was discussed in the thread Kiwi Farms has on TCRF, and as Xkeeper browses KF, they took notice...

libogc revealed to have used code stolen from Nintendo

:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: You think that matters? That any of this matters? If so I got a bridge I could sell you.

Sonic the Fighters gets first functional decompilation build

Exactly. This project is a complete waste of time and WILL become a drama magnet, and I’ll be here laughing when it happens.

libogc revealed to have used code stolen from Nintendo

It has not, will not, and quite literally can not be a problem. This is not some groundbreaking revelation, this is a mentally ill freak begging for edrama so they can somehow claw back some legitimacy after burning any and all goodwill they had accrued in the GNU/Linux community. This project...

Happy, underwhelmed, and something in between - GBAtemp staff react to the Switch 2 Direct

It’s an underwhelming release from an underwhelming company. Granted, I’m rather bearish towards a bull in what is showing itself to be a rather big bear market, but I’m very much soured towards Nintendo products and everything I’ve seen has been rather disappointing. An overpriced handheld with...

Billy Mitchell wins defamation lawsuit against YouTuber, owed $240,000 in damages

You literally just skipped even the comments here and spewed out the first thoughts that came to mind lmao Karl Jobst is an absolute idiot, that‘s quite evident. I mean, he speedruns video games. He didn’t misunderstand and mistakenly misrepresent the case to us though, he actively lied to his...

Hackers release playable PC builds of Pokémon Legends Arceus and more following Game Freak gigaleak

Drill Dozer got a lot of promo material and I think some beta builds, I haven’t heard of anything Pulseman though. Maybe when Nintendo stops harassing my emulators. If buying isn’t owning then piracy isn’t stealing, and this is even more true when I am restricted in legal choices by a...

Palworld developer responds to Nintendo's lawsuit, claims they don't know which patents are being infringed upon

Ya wanna know what’s an even bigger joke than this lawsuit? The morons still harping on about how PalWorld “STOLENED” Pokemon’s designs and that’s “so totally bad!!! :(“ Like, bro, this is a multi-billion dollar franchise where more people believe in a yellow rat’s existence than Santa Claus...

ROMhacking.net shuts down after nearly 20 years

Honestly I know none of the specifics (and don’t particularly care, because the current landscape of most emulation and romhacking is unfortunately quite cancerous), but I find it fully plausible if not probable that it was a combination of romhacking.org harassing and “dehumanizing” RHDN, and...

OpenLara - a stunning GBA port of the 1996 classic Tomb Raider

I’m confused; do you mean better via a PSX emulator or with a GBA emulator? Additionally the GBA is not an engine, but OpenLara is, so the question is whether this is OpenLara-specific or can be applied generally to porting PSX games to GBA.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been delayed to 2025, according to reports

I don’t, per Merriam-Webster: No mention of market at all. Although I will say the Switch *was* more innovative (well, as innovative as a large PSP using already last-gen Nvidia Shield parts can be) than Apple’s A/VR helmet, since that’s just the same components as the Oculus Rift with worse...

OpenLara - a stunning GBA port of the 1996 classic Tomb Raider

Really don’t care for the TR series, but *fuck* is this insane. Really curious if these tricks and optimizations can be applied generally to PS1 games, or if they’re more engine-specific. Excellent work (even if the Funko Pop was cringe).
