    It has no sideeffects, just remove it. You only need it for powering through USB, since its desoldert, no need to be on the board.

    Normaly the most used value for the pull down resistor is between 5k and 10k. I never saw someone using any deep calculation for this. Have done a few electronic layouts with 10k ohm, was never an issue.

    Good calculation! If im not mistaken the Rp2040 only gives 3.3V out not 20V on the gate.

    Hope this will fit well between APU and ram under the shield and work also :D Mosfet one the down left corner, already grounded. So only one wire to the cap is needed with the "MD" Pad. Right side is to cut away.

    I would say that the gate (G) is the CPU Line. As i understood right, we just shorten the cap to ground. Drain (D) and Source (S) are the pins of the cap. See attachement. Edit: Also looks like its cap nr.9 that needs to be removed and not 8, at least it looks like it in the picture you send.
