GBA SP vertical line
I did try putting pressure on the joints, I tried to reflow the ribbon connection - nothing worked. Replacing the whole screen doesn't make sense I guess as the screen alone is rather expensive... I guess I'll use this SP for parts then...- ddloox

Any idea why this happens and if there's any chance of rescuing this display...? Inspected the ribbon and everything else I could see and it all looks OK. The display connector is also fine...- ddloox

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.+1 -

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
