Many people get this with handhelds including myself. An ergonomic grip does definitely help, although with 3ds I think it’s the extra weight. This is why some people prefer 2ds over 3ds, they feel much lighter and take a lot longer to cause the tingling numbness. If possible i’d say try to get...
So far Core_2 after clean installing the new dev version stability seems improved, hopefully it won‘t start crashing now I’ve said it‘s better.
However I’ve noticed if I open the ‘Y’ menu and alter anything such as volume boost, the sound goes completely out of sync. I don’t think I noticed this...
Core_2 I’ve noticed sometimes it freezes the UI pressing X, then works again after a few seconds. This is different however, frequent crashes from doing various things, as if something is being triggered in the code somewhere. Maybe something to do with adding fake mode?
The videos play through...
Funnily enough I haven’t really watched anything windowed on this version, I resize videos that aren’t wide/fullscreen mainly. I’ve found most crashes occur using the dpad/buttons to fast forward or change videos, but I get many random crashes whatever I do. Once anything is playing though it...
Core_2 I’m sorry I don’t know the exact codec used, I’m using an old program for a Sony Walkman oled called Wondershare Video to Walkman Converter. Which uses an older version of h264 .mp4, Audio it just lists as AAC .mp3. Most videos I’m encoding at 800x480 and are mainly tv series around...
Ahh thank you AleronIves, I’d realised it was to do with benchmarking but I didn’t get what the “fake” thing was. Again another really useful addition, awesome stuff Core_2_Extreme. 👍
Thank you Core-2 for overlaying the video in windowed mode, such a simple but perfect solution. The 1.3.4 dev is very unstable for me with frequent crashes, obviously due to it being unfinished, just thought I’d mention it incase I’m the only one.
BTW what is fake model, I can‘t work it out?
AleronIves, what I meant was when you press select and exit fullscreen, there is a black bar at the top of the top screen. With frame rate, date and time and icons up the corner.
I would like to see a way to turn this off, then when you manually zoom in with R1 you can set your own sized videos...
Hmm it’s all a bit weird isn’t it, especially handbrake making videos laggy. The best option I’ve found is using my old walkman video encoder (which funnily enough has 400x240 resolution), I can encode videos on that at 800x480 and they play perfectly, and are close to full screen. That’s why I...
Thanks for the suggestions AleronIves, I’ve tried these myself with not great results, even at 240p Handbrake encoded videos struggled on the 3ds. I see what you’re saying about the fullscreen thing though, the 3ds resolution is pretty awkward to get around.
I‘ve tried encoding at 800x240 and...
AleronIves, which encoder software would you recommend?
Btw I have encoded a few at 800x480, and they play full speed/full screen with HW decoding.
I just think it would be nice to be able to run any video fullscreen, which would save resizing, cropping etc when encoding for example whole tv...
This is brilliant so far, thank you Core 2. Wouldn’t it be simpler to just make a stretch to fullscreen mode (800x240) rather than aspect ratios etc. I can only encode most of mine at 720x480, which then leaves a big black border all around the screen.
Either a fullscreen stretch, or could you...
I use an old video converter called Wondershare Video to Walkman converter. Vids made with this work at 480p with no glitches or frames missed. They look amazing played at 800x resolution. Quite surprising considering even at 240p videos made with Handbrake aren’t perfect.
I’m not sure if you...
Thank you for adding these improvements, both essential imho, this player is looking better and better every new release. It’s brilliant to see that the 2/3ds community is still going strong. Great addition Core_2_Extreme.
auto
I’d just like to add that the 800 resolution really makes video’s...
Thank you Core_2_Extreme, this is really starting to shape up nicely now. Can I make another suggestion please. Is there any way you could add a volume boost?
Some things sound really quiet, especially on n2ds speakers.
Fullscreen is really great also and much needed (maybe even take this...
Thank you Badda, this is what I was doing.
I just noticed the tape drive wasn’t mounted so wouldn’t work, had to mount device now it works.
Thanks again, great release :)
This is great, it’s looking better every new release.
A couple of bugs though (for me at least).
Colour palettes aren’t working in Video/VICII settings.
It’s also now unstable for me, with random lock ups.
Version 1.1 was perfect, so hopefully these are simple bugs to pin down (unless it’s...
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
