    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

So just started using my Retroarch again on my Switch and as far as I am aware nothing has changed - however now it takes a VERY long time to boot and sometimes doesn't been boot at all. Has anyone had this issue?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

So what's the actual process? Do I just download the ZIP I want from SDSetup (like I did when I first homebrewed my Switch) and overwrite it there? And then just reboot the Switch? And then is there a way to change my OFFICIAL firmware to the latest without being bricked? Keeping in mind I...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hoping someone can help me here, I am a bit nervous as I have never updated a Switch before. I used to ask on the Atlas discord but apparently that is closed down now? Basically, my Switch currently says that the "current system version" is 9.1.0|AMS 0.10.1|S I just wanted to know what the...

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

I am not familiar with where those are located, sorry. Another question - trying to boot Mortal Kombat Unchained using the PPSSPP core and it crashes after the opening cutscenes before I even get to the main menu. Reading around apparently disabling Media Engine or something can fix that, but I...

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

Yeah, but there are ways to convert a DexDrive (.gce) save to .srm for Playstation. But there doesn't seem to be a way to convert these two formats (for Dreamcast) to work with Retroarch......

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

Okay so I have downloaded some saves from GameFAQs and they are available in either VMI or DCI formats. I'm struggling to comprehend how to convert these to a format that RetroArch will recognise on the Switch. PS1 was easy because you just find the SRM and convert it. I don't know if I can say...

Thank you for this! Will look into it all when I have some more time.

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

So embarrassing. It was CVS1. Not 2. So crazy to think the performance is so different. Is there a way to get MvsC2 working? Also, what's title direction? Does it improve performance and if so how should I do it? Sorry, a bit new to this. ;_; Also, for ANY games (PS1, Dreamcast, N64 etc.) is...

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

Can anyone help me out? I saw on a Twitter post that somebody got Capcom vs SNK 2 working fine on the Dreamcast on Retroarch. However when I play it (or ANY sprite-based games, for that matter) they seem to lag really bad. Is there a trick to setting them up?

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hey all, just a quick one and I know there's no definitive answer but I thought I'd ask anyway. If this is against TOS please let me know. I've downloaded some XCI through Switch-XCI.com torrents but most seemt o get an NCA error through tinfoil. I know how to fix it but...

Homebrew RELEASE Gamecard Installer NX: A way to install your gamecards directly to your switch!

I just tried with Pokemon just to confirm and it works great. Ran into an error but I just hadn't had the proper patches installed. So to get updates or DLC I can install any NSP with Goldleaf or something?

Homebrew RELEASE Gamecard Installer NX: A way to install your gamecards directly to your switch!

So when this installs, how does it appear? Like a tile on the homescreen? and you just boot and play like normal? Veyr handy and simple tool if so.

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

No that's okay. Thanks for your help and quick answer Does Sega Saturn or DS work properly yet? I can't seem to find a solid answer and I've tried one DS game (Resident Evil) which seems to run slow.

    Homebrew RetroArch Switch

I hope this is the right place to ask. I have the Dreamcast running on my Switch and have a GDI file for a game as well as a few bin files (labeled as Track 1, Track 2) and such. Is playing the GDI files through RetroArch recommended? I noticed when booting one game that the FMVs ran a bit...

    Hacking Loadiine GX2

I know this is a stupid question and I am sure it has been answered elsewhere but I am seeing YouTube videos that imply that Loadiine can load from a USB HDD. Is this true or is Loadiine purely for SD cards only? What's the best solution for someone using a USB HDD?

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
