    The golden rule remains: don't hack something you are afraid of losing. And if you are afraid, back the fuck up, duplicate the backup, put it in ext hds and the cloud. Then proceed with hack.

    Just look at the 'similar threads' below. This ''problem" was extensively discussed, documented and solved before. It would've saved u a lot of anxiety to just research a bit. Glad that in the end it worked out fine, but it could've been smoother and solved faster.

    How can Hactool verify malicious code? Idk if that's possible... Backups however are an absolute must. And people must be triple aware when Smash launches bc the internet will be flooded with malwares. Anyways, LGP malware could be easily fixed with a backup. But without, it's a hard brick.

    Blue screen is fuse error. It shouldn't happen with cfw though. You can use Raj's tutorial to update using PC.

    OP, Don't forget that there's an update to the game card reader after 5.0 IIRC. That means that you have to disable it when updating (nogc modules on reiNX etc.) If you don't do this and ever downgrade to 3.0, you'll face problems with your card reader.

    Well seriously now, one possible explanation would have to be that the switch stores the joy con firmware exactly at the place that windows uses to identify the device, thus changing how it's detected. That of course is very unlikely and these things don't work that way. Anyways, the good thing...

    OP, you can always update your firmware to 6.1 via the old ChoiDuJour (PC) method. That way you don't need to boot to Horizon to upgrade. Do everything via RCM. Gbatemp /threads/how-to-install-run-any-switch-firmware-unofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/ (can't post links yet) But...
