Hardware [DISCUSSION] A better way to capture high quality 3DS video footage

There's going to always be a market for something like this. I know people think the 3ds is "past its prime" for a thing like this, but I have one response for you: speedrunners. I really hope he does this, it would be nothing short of amazing.

Hardware [DISCUSSION] A better way to capture high quality 3DS video footage

I guess I was more or less just wondering if there's anything specifically special about the screen the old 2ds uses, and the ribbon cable it connects to the motherboard. Because if not, I was wondering if there's another device i could, in theory, plug its cable directly into the 2ds...

Hardware [DISCUSSION] A better way to capture high quality 3DS video footage

Just a thought, but is there anything particularly special about the screens in the old model 2ds? Specifically the ribbon cable? I just want to be able to capture the top screen, and I do not need the console to even be in a portable state. Basically, what I'm wondering, is if there's some sort...

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks again for this project. It means a lot to be able to revisit old games I haven't been able to play in a long time. Keep up the great work!

    Hardware 2ds/2ds XL Testpoints

Is there any data on testpoints for the various buttons for the 2ds xl or old 2ds? I have both in my possession and would like to do a hard mod. Otherwise, if I dive in with a multi-meter any idea what I should be looking for to find them myself? If I have to map one of the two myself, I will...

Hardware Raspberry pi based AV out solution?

Right, I saw that, but I was just addressing how you originally failed to read the OP and went on about softmods and ended up ultimately confusing OP before finally getting the point in post #10. I actually did reach out to Loopy, though I doubt he'll get back to me. I've got the time on my...

Hardware Raspberry pi based AV out solution?

Nobody said anything about soft-mods working off an RPi. OP was talking about using the RPi as a way to grab and export video from the 2DS via a hardmod made to the system. I've got programming experience, and electronics experience to some degree (robotics) but I have no idea what to even look...

Hardware Raspberry pi based AV out solution?

If I recall correctly, this is basically what Katsukity did for their TV export mod. You essentially got a modded DS and a 2015 model Raspberry pi that had janky push button controls over the GPIO pins. With that said, I would be super interested in a mod like this being "open source"

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

No worries! Will look forward to a potential update that supports remapping (or disabling that reset method) in the future. Thanks for the replies to both of you :)

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

Awesome project. Is there any way around re-loading the rom when you soft reset? Trying to get started soft-resetting in Pokemon Heartgold for a shiny starter (until my legit copy shows up) and the extra load time is making it meh. I understand if there's no way around it for technical reasons...

Hardware Test Points for New 3DS XL?

Sorry if this exists, I tried searching and haven't had much luck. I want to make a hard mod to enable me to control an N3DS XL with a mico controller. Before I go poking around in a unit, I was wondering if there are any known test points for the N3DS XL? I've found plenty on older units, but...

Homebrew Rosalina Input Redirection Stops Working

I've written a shiny hunting bot for Gen 7 Pokemon games that takes advantage of the Rosalina Input Redirection. Step forward -> If not shiny -> soft reset. The problem is, randomly, Input Redirection stops working. The 3ds isn't locked up itself. I can try stopping the client on the PC...

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
