Tutorial Modify ANY Wii 4.3 & below

Xflak, thanks for the tips. Though I'm an old gamer, all this console stuff is pretty new for me. What I meant with "easy" was that is there any loader that lets you set up the games as "channels" on the Wii menu? Also, is it easy (for me, not my son) to revert the mods and get a clean firmware...

Tutorial Modify ANY Wii 4.3 & below

Hi people, thanks to all for the effort of writing such an easy guide to an otherwise involved process. I'm new to Wii, having bought a new console (factory 4.2U) and the main user here is my 4-year old. That said, is there a good and simple USB-loader setup that can be operated by my son? Thanks!

DS #2495: Final Fantasy IV (USA)

Ok, updating my last post, it worked on a different folder. I'm guessing SC doesn't like several files with similar names around.

DS #2495: Final Fantasy IV (USA)

Still no luck I'm using lite (not rumble) and tried almost every setting I can, nothing works. It's odd that when loading the rom, SC tries to load 16k of it

DS #2107: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings Of Fate (USA)

Can anyone help me on White Screens with SuperCard Lite? Yes, I have read around, I am using the non-patched Hugecock USA version, with Supercard software 2.65 and firmware 1.85 (which is supposed to get rid of the moogles screen of death). I've tried a lot of different settings, and always get...

ROM Hack I'm making a FFIV translation patch...

    5. Maybe because my native tongue isn't english and Ydrops was the first word that popped up. And the second name is probably copyrighted by Apple.

ROM Hack I'm making a FFIV translation patch...

To the team: Great job! Thanks for the effort! Great patch, easy to use. I have just one suggestion: When FF3DS was released, there was something similar, I even did my own patching of it. When trying to translate the names to fit in the japanese "slots"(which could be less than english words)...

Hacking Extract save from GBA cart

It must take a lot of dexterity to do that. Tried some times, got my hopes high but it reset every time. Unfortunately I don't have a GBA, so I can't do it with cables. Another thing, supposing I manage to do extract my save, do I need to convert it to some proper format (SuperCard, EzFlash, M3...

Hacking Extract save from GBA cart

Yup, I found savecart just after posting here. SCLite goes through the motions, seems like it will work, but upon reinserting the SCLite (last step!) the system reboots. Talk about disappointment! I was hoping something else existed... Seems only solutions are Ez 3-in-1 related, right? Thanks!

Hacking Extract save from GBA cart

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to extract the savegame off a gba cart using a slot-2 SC lite? Thanks!

Hacking Final Fantasy III not working anymore

I meant that the cheats were enabled at the time of the patching. Neither US or EU roms worked. What is the alternate region rom? Cheers!

Hacking Final Fantasy III not working anymore

Hi! I have patched FFIII before (as soon as it got released, I can't remember the patching engine) and it works properly with my SCLite. However, when trying to patch with the current (tried .63 and .64 versions) software, the game locks on the opening credits. Anyone had different results...

How can I unlock the barriers that have different-colored orbs (a red and a blue) in the second dungeon? Also how to unlock the yellow barrier where the orb is behind the barrier? Cheers!

    ROM Hack FFIII Savegame Editing

The editor contains links to some japanese pages that did it for me! I *haven't* used the editor to change anything on my savegame, just to follow the links. Somewhere over there (I'll find where later, at work now...) is a program that corrects the ff3 checksum. I used hexedit to change the...

    ROM Hack FFIII Savegame Editing

Wow, Dipstar is *really* above me. *Really*. Anyway, the readme kinda says it's no use trying dipstar alongstar supercard (which is what I have). Gonna try comparing CRCs of different files, *if* i can figure them out. As supercard dumps the entire 3 savegames in one file is gonna make my life...

    ROM Hack FFIII Savegame Editing

Safariman: Yeah I made a backup and length wasn't the problem, as I padded the missing HEX characters with SPACES, so everything still had the same length. Problem is CRC changed. WangJang: Haven't tried Dipstar yet, will try as soon as I get home from work... Thanks a lot!

    ROM Hack FFIII Savegame Editing

Hi! I'm using the savegame from the Japanese FFIII (no point in doing everything again...) with FFIII USA, and now my characters have crappy names like ]cO or a%5 since I was using the original japanese names. Using an hex editor, I managed to find out the names and translate them, but as I...
