I literally have no way of paying them, because I currently have no bank account or even debit card! I'm working on that, but still.
That and any parties involved with Wii U chat have to also be on the $10 tier or higher...
The issue isn't simply the fact I don't have the money for it, I do, but it's the fact that as someone who currently has no way to make online payments without having to go through his awful father for it,
I know it isn't a permanent gate, but it just doesn't feel entirely fair.. And it isn't a "little bit", I've been waiting for months and it feels like it's gonna take more months for them to have prod-environment support for Wii U chat enabled..
Also, NN is dead, you would think they would consider putting their already-finished things (such as Wii U chat, again) into production as a result, but no, for some reason..
I think they deserve compensation, but considering the fact they're roughly 250% over their monthly donation goal, I feel like they should at least put more things into a public, free beta, and maybe lock less-stable or less-finished things in the $10 tier.
Not everyone can pay that, and on their own website they list Wii U chat (among other things, usually system stuff) as 100% supported. If it's 100% supported or, "finished", why is it not on the production environment yet and not the more-or-less paid beta?!
I can't be the only one who thinks Pretendo locking their beta testing out behind a $10/month paywall is bullshit, right? I just wanna use Wii U chat, damn you!!
DSiWare titles typically have an animated icon. If it's those, then I don't get how the transfer wouldn't have copied them over (and why faketik wouldn't have made them reappear)
IIRC there isn't any specific video conversion tool made for WiiMC, but it shouldn't be TOO hard to figure out the optimal bitrate and resolution settings for a WiiMC-optimized video, and then make a simple script to make FFMpeg do the dirty work here.
See? Not everything in 2024 has to be 8K UltraUHD Oversaturated (OLED) Megashit Terrafart overly-high-quality resolution and too-fast-to-actually-perceive FPS. Sometimes "low quality" ain't so low after all.
Phones don't easily connect to TVs and Marchrius here might not have a Chromecast; damn things would need a internet connection anyway.
Now, sure, it'd be easier to use some Android TV device, but why not a Wii U?
Well, WiiMC can be used under vWii to play media off the SD card, I haven't *really* tried it myself but in theory it should work. Only downside is no gamepad controls..
