I'm visiting this forum since the NDS era, i just recently registered, and i still think it would be difficult to achieve. Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome, but i'm still unonvinced and i'm still positive that the big N would study for any irregularities about the project to take it down...
I think it won't be out until the switch is dead and ninty moves to the next gen console. Right now if someone would do something like this it's very likely that would recieve a sue from nintendo

Do you like to have 2-3 games and focus on beating them? Low space card and delete them when completed
Do you like to have all kinds of games for all kinds of situations? One big card or a few cards always with you

we'll see how it evolves atmosphere, but depending on what, i could consider the option to buy a doongle if i'm in a hurry to play switch backups. I mean, i don't see it especially expensive for what it offers (in my ps3 days i spent 60€ for that... usb doongle... true blue i think it was...
If irc, using pc software you can reformat your sd card to be recognized for your switch without update. My switch is in 3.0.2 and i have a 128gb micro sd xc. I think i reformatted to fat32 hc (not sure, i'm abroad right now, can't check)
What annoys me most is having a plain pikachu/eevee wasting a slot in your team when you could have some badass Pokémon like gyarados or dragonite. In case i play it (not sure, i find too childish) the starterstarter goes to the pc. What a waste if i can't evolve it.
i think it went really fast for the switch to be crack open. Consoles like wiiu, ps4 or 3ds took longer for their security to be broken. I remember buying a splatoon wiiu bundle to hack the system in the future (oddly enough, i enjoy tweaking with systems the same as playing videogames with...
